FINE ART AUCTION POST SALE REPORT FOR JUNE 10th, 2007

“19th & 20th Centuries American & European Paintings, Prints & Works on Paper”

The Chicago Art Auction is pleased to announce the results of our inaugural fine art auction from June 10th.  One Hundred works of art were offered with the total sold at USD873,420.

Some sale highlights include the Clyfford Still Untitled (Houses at Nespelem) that sold prior to the auction for an undisclosed amount to a prominent United States museum.  The cover lot, the Oscar Berninghaus sold well into the six figures and there was strong bidding on the Chihuly bowls, the Raymond Jonson, Emile Gruppe amongst others.  Several of our European works sold into five figures and as a whole the sale was well attended with active floor, phone and internet bidding.  We sold to Japan, London, Holland and throughout the United States .  Several artists including Jose Bernal, Karl Plath and Shelly Canton Terman were sold at auction for the first time.  Please see below for a complete list of artists.

In keeping with our privacy policy that respects our clients, The Chicago Art Auction does not report any prices realized to art databases for specific works of art.  If you would like to know the specific price realized for an individual lot in our Fine Art Auction, then please contact The Chicago Art Auction through phone or email and it is possible that we can share that information with you.
