Thank you for considering The Chicago Fine Art Auction to sell your fine art. The first step in consigning is to send photographs of the artwork to us. These must be clear, preferably digital or 35mm photos taken under ample lighting. A photo of the reverse is helpful. No Polaroids please. The better the quality, the more accurate the estimate will be. Please send photographs and information to: The Chicago Art Auction, 740 North Ogden Ave, Chicago, IL 60622. Quality e-mail photographs are acceptable. Please click on Free Estimates to send photos via email. Minimum value of each painting must be $5,000.
- Artist's name; location of signature and or date
- Medium (oil on canvas, oil on panel etc.)
- The size (only of the artwork, not including the frame)
- Any information as to labels or inscriptions on the reverse, provenance or ownership history.
- Condition and any information that you believe might help our specialists.
After we receive the photographs, we will contact you regarding our estimate(s) and reserve(s), usually within ten days.
Seller's commission is as follows: Lots selling $20,000 and above - 6%; $5,000 to $19,999- 8%; $1 to $4,999-10%.
There is no charge for: 1. Picturing your artwork in our catalog, 2. Picturing your artwork on our website, 3. Unsold lots
If a lot is unsold it is the responsibility of the seller to pay for return packing and shipping charges.
